RitualWare
2025
Informed by the visual language of altars and ceremonial objects, it reimagines archetypal forms — such as candle holders and incense burners —through the lens of architectural structures, modern materiality and adaptive functionality.
This gives the product a modern aesthetic that is closer to high end consumer electronics than conventionally organic or handmade mindfulness products.
RitualWare is more than a decorative object, it’s a versatile and functional tool for modern ritual.
The modular functionality of the product is inherent in the design, with the split lines between the segments describing the topology of the form. This creates an organised and geometrically satisfying visual effect.
The modules are easily reconfigurable- becoming a candle holder, incense burner or a hybrid of functionality. Segments with a concave surface can be attached, creating a space for matches or other ceremonial objects to be placed. Larger arrangements can be built, for example to create a dining table candelabra centrepiece.
The bronze Incense Module is shaped to become the negative impression of the split lines, allowing it to fit snugly into a candle holder slot. The small hole holds incense sticks vertically as they burn, and cone format incense burns safely within the metal bowl.
