RitualWare

2025

RitualWare is a modular tool for mindfulness.

Informed by the visual language of altars and ceremonial objects, it reimagines archetypal forms—such as candle holders and incense burners—through the lens of architecture, modern materiality and novel functionality. RitualWare is more than just a decorative object, it is a versatile and reconfigurable tool for modern ritual.

The modular functionality of the product is inherent in the design, with the split line between segments describing the topology of the form. This creates a structured, geometrically satisfying aesthetic.

The product can be configured as a candle holder, a small plinth, an incense burner or a hybrid tool. Segments with a dished surface provide an area for matches or other ceremonial objects to be placed. Larger arrangements can be built, for example to create a candelabra centrepiece.

RitualWare is made up of individual diecast segments that snap
together with a series of high strength magnets. This allows for
easy and fast reconfiguration, whilst also keeping the parts firmly
secured together.

Connecting Segments allow for the product to be extended,
for example to hold more candles. This opens up possibilities
for the user to adapt the product for different functional
configurations and use cases.

The Dish Segments allow the creation of a small tray area, creating convenient display and storage for matches, lighters and incense.

The bronze Incense Module is shaped to become the negative impression of the split lines, allowing it to fit snugly into a candle holder slot. The small hole holds incense sticks vertically as they burn, and cone format incense burns safely within the metal bowl.
